The group includes office headWillia Manning, who serves as outside general counsel to the Universithy of Delaware and also represents Verizonb Corp. and Dover Downs. The litigator was once chief of staffr to formerDelaware Gov. Pete DuPont. The othedr two partners are Teresa who led bankruptcy effortsa for Buchananin Delaware, and real estats lawyer Richard Forsten.
The additions give Saul Ewin 19 lawyersin Wilmington, where bankruptcies have takebn off during the economic downturn. A large percentagre of companies from around the countr file for Chapter 11 protectiomnin Delaware. But because Delaware only has about 2,000 lawyersz and has a strong set of indigenouslaw firms, the Wilmingtonj market has been a tough one to crackl for outsiders, even neighborinhg Philadelphia firms. Among Philadelphia firms, Peppefr Hamilton and Fox Rothschild have 17 DrinkerBiddle & Reath has 15 and Blank Rome has 13. Saul Ewinh said Manning will servdas co-managing partner of the offic e with current office managing partner and real estatde lawyer Wendie Stabler.
