The Trailblazer Energy Plant will bea 600-megawaty coal-fired plant equipped with carbon capture technologh located in Sweetwater, Texas. ” The project proposed by Tenaska is touted by the compan y as the first in the United States to producd electricity via a conventional coal-fuel powedr plant while capturing 85 percentg to 90 percent of the carbohn dioxide emissions. The engineering phase of the project is anticipater to last12 months. Tenaska is expected to make a final decision on the launcu of the projectin 2010. When the Trailblazer Energy Center is expected to providr enough energy topower 600,000 homes.
